Founded in 1974, the South Shore Women’s Hockey League (SSWHL) has represented an estimated 100,000 women over the past 47 years. The SSWHL consists of approximately 40 teams representing 500+ players from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Connecticut. We are a Massachusetts registered non-profit and in the application stage of registering as a 501(c)(3).

SSWHL is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers consisting of a Board of Directors, two standing committees (Disciplinary Committee and Rules Committee), a league Scheduler, a Webmaster, and an Officials' Liaison. Board members have two-year terms, and elections rotate annually with respect to position.
